Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with business stakeholders and Product Managers to develop product vision and roadmap.
2. Work with Business Analysts to gather requirements and create architecture blueprints and design documents.
3. Select appropriate technologies and promote reusability across the platform.
4. Participate in Program Increment planning, assist with estimations, and manage the architecture backlog.
5. Coordinate with other architects and engineering teams to ensure alignment of architecture with implementation and adherence to standards.
6. Define design patterns, integration strategies, in-application security, and development standards.
7. Lead the creation of common services, frameworks, and reusable components, and review design and code to manage technical debt.
8. Govern architecture and technology by leading reviews, assessments, and ensuring compliance with frameworks.
9. Drive continuous architecture improvement and cost optimization in collaboration with technical and product management teams.
10. Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends, especially in AI, and incorporate them into the architecture.
General skill requirements
- Deep Understanding of Azure Cloud Services: Proficiency in Azure Compute, Storage, Networking, and Security services.
- Architecture Design and Modelling: Ability to design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure architectures. Familiarity with architectural patterns and practices for cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps Services for managing the lifecycle of software development.
- Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert are preferred.
Specific skill requirements
- Designing networking solutions in the cloud. The architect will need to revisit and propose improvements to the current network architecture consisting of an Azure VWAN backbone with Express Route and F5 for VPN connections.
- Working with modern database and analytics solutions such as MongoDB and Databricks, he or she will be helping design our centralized metadata solution.
- Expertise in Active Directory, experience working on hybrid environments (AD + EntraID) and knowledge about VM Configuration Management is required.
- Understanding of Observability capabilities, certificate management and Ansible platform is desired
